Aloe (Aloe vera) – its gel contains more than 160 different naturally occurring substances.
Oligosaccharides – carbohydrates (saccharides) that human digestive enzymes do not break down, so they reach the large intestine undigested. In nature, oligosaccharides are found in artichokes, chicory, leeks, onions, asparagus and burdock leaves, and also in breast milk.
Lingzhi (Ganoderma lucidum, reishi) – a mushroom that grows on the roots and trunks of certain trees. It contains amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, polysaccharides and terpenoids.
Lingzhi has long been used in traditional Chinese practice.
The cordyceps mushroom (Cordyceps sinensis) is an ascomycete fungus that grows on the Tibetan plateau at around 4 km altitude. A spore that reaches the larva of a ghost moth (Hepialidae) germinates in spring, drawing on the larva's nutrients, and later attaches to plant roots and feeds from them.
Cordyceps contains polysaccharides, amino acids, enzymes and unsaturated fatty acids.
Cordyceps has long been used in traditional Chinese practice.
